Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

Welcome back to my weekly Stacking the shelves! I really didn’t think I would have much to report this week, as I knew I would have only one library book to pick up. But my son came home for a visit and brought me two books! One he bought for Mother’s Day, but never mailed, (millennials😂) and the other is one he bought for himself and then gifted to me. Now if I can only get through my huge stack of library books, I might even get around to reading them.

I was also surprised at the addition of four more ARCs to my NetGalley account. THe last few times I had gone in looking for books, I hadn’t found anything I was interested in and then boom, on Monday I found four and was approved for all of them. Luckily most of them are for next year, so I have time to get them done.

Books I have added to my bedside stack

A Witch’s Guide to Fake Dating a Demon is the only library book I have picked up this week. This is the last of the holds for a while I hope. I really need to whittle my pile down before any more show up.

Light Years From Home and The Accomplice are two books that my son bought for me. I am really looking forward to reading them soon, hopefully before the end of the year.

ARC’s I’ve added to my Netgalley account

I finally found an ARC that is being published in December. I keep looking and hoping something will catch my interest but up until a week ago, nothing. Finally I spotted Her Dark Wings which is a retelling of the Persephone myth. I just love that cover!

Twenty Seven Minutes has been getting a lot of hype and it doesn’t come out until January. It sounds really good though and I am looking forward to picking it up soon.

I am super excited to read the next book in the Finlay Donovan series. This series has been a hoot, and I just love reading about all the shenanigans that Finlay and Vero find themselves getting into. I can’t wait to start Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice, coming out in March 2024.

I enjoyed another book by Simone St. James earlier this year, The Book of Cold Cases, so I was excited to see her newest book, Murder Road, available. It sounds really good, so I might have to read it sooner rather than later. It comes out in April 2024.

Audiobooks

After listening to Starling House last month, I really wanted to read another book by Alix E. Harrow. I have had The Ten Thousand Doors of January on my Want to Read list for quite a while, so it will be good to finally get it done. I love that the narrator’s name is also January. Ms. LaVoy is a new reader to me, so hopefully it will be good.

That is it for this week’s installment of Stacking the Shelves. I certainly have a lot of good books lined up and I really hope I can get to them all soon. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
