My January 2024 TBR

Wow! How exciting that I get to start thinking about all of the wonderful books that will be coming out in 2024!I have some wonderful books lined up for the next few months that I can’t wait to get started on.But first a quick look back.I almost completed my December TBR.I am almost done with my last ARC, but I still have a library book from the list that I haven’t started yet.But I still have a few days left in the month, so hopefully I will get that one at least started.I have four ARCs to read in January for books that come out in February, and then I have chosen four other books to read this month. As always the book titles are linked to their Goodreads pages.

ARC’s I Need to Reads

The Tainted Cup is the first book in a new fantasy mystery series that looks very promising. The main characters are suppose to be a Holmes-Watson duo, which can sometimes be hit or miss for me.But I am hopeful it will be good.

The Bezzle is the next book in the Martin Hench series. I really liked the first book, so I’m hopeful that this one will be just as good. I almost always enjoy Cory Doctorow’s books so this is a safe bet.

I Only Read Murder is a cozy mystery that looked like it would be a good match for me.It is about an actress who used to play a detective on TV getting caught up in a real life murder mystery.

Under the Storm is a mystery thriller out of Scandinavia. It is written by a professor of criminology which I am hoping will give it a feel of authenticity.

Other Books I plan to Read

The Seven Year Slip is a contemporary fantasy romance with time travel.I didn’t read the blurb before picking this up at the library.I just grabbed it because I love Ashley Poston’s books and just knew this would be a good one.

Shadow Baron is the second book in the Burnished City series.I really enjoyed the first book, so I am looking forward to reading this one.

Dark Water Daughter is a pirate book.I think I am a little late to this party as I vaguely remember it being talked about a lot in the early part of the summer this year.Well better late than never. And this way I will have it fresh in my mind when the second book comes out next summer.

Upon a Frosted Star is a book I have been excited about for a while now.It is a retelling of Swan Lake, one of my favorite ballets. It seems to be getting good reviews, so I am hopeful that it will be wonderful.

A nice mix of old and new titles. The library books are all 2023 books I didn’t get to last year.I still have a few more of those that I need to read, hopefully in the next two to three months.I hope that you all have wonderful books that you plan to bring in the new year with.Until next time…

Happy Reading!
