WWW Wednesday

A little bit of a slow week of reading for me. But that is ok. I enjoyed the three books I read, I just took a bit longer to read them than I normally do. The three that I am currently reading I am enjoying as well, but two of them are rather long and the pacing in both is a bit slow, so it may take me awhile to get through both of them this week. 

What am I currently reading?

The Bezzle is the current ARC I am reading. It is the second book in the Marty Hench mysteries and so far I am enjoying it. The beginning part takes place on Catalina Island off the coast of California, one of my favorite places to visit, so that has been fun.

Shadow Baron is my current library book, and so far it has been going a bit slow. I had a hard time at the start remembering all of the characters from the first book, but once I got past that I started to enjoy it a little bit more, but it is still kind of slow going.

Iron Flame is my current audiobook and so far I am liking it. The romance is starting to bog down the plot a bit too much, but I think I will be able to muddle through. I am enjoying the narrator so that is something I guess.

What have I recently finished reading?

The Tainted Cup was a really solid murder mystery with a great detective duo. But it is the world building that makes this such a great read. The author created such a fantastical world built on science and the enhancement of people that is unlike anything I have read before.

Dark Water Daughter also had a wonderful world that I found fascinating. The pacing could have been better, but I enjoyed the characters and the plot quite a bit.

The Spellman Files was a pretty fun and light audiobook that I really enjoyed. The Spellmans are quite the dysfunctional family that will keep you entertained with all their shenanigans.

What will I read next?

I Only Read Murder will be the next ARC that I need to read. I am looking forward to something a little bit lighter and hopefully funnier than some of my current reads.

Upon a Frosted Star will be my next library read I think. I can’t wait to read this retelling of Swan Lake.

Empire of the Vampire will be my next audiobook. I had to put it off when Iron Flame became available, but hopefully I will get to it next.

Hopefully my reading will pick up a bit this week. I am a little bit behind on my TBR that I set for this month, but hopefully I will get them all read before the end of the month. Until next time…
