Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

Slow week, I have only added three books to my stack, but that is ok.I have lots of books that I need to read before getting more anyway. This has been a pretty slow reading month and I’m not sure why, except that I have either read or listened to some pretty long books. There were also some that were kind of slow moving as well, so took a bit of extra ambition to get them done.My January TBR is kind of shot to hell at this point, but I still have a week and a half to the month to get it all settled.

Books I have added to my bedside stack

Crucible of Chaos is one of those books whose release date has changed many times. It took me awhile to finally figure out when the US release was going to be, and then I stalked it on Netgalley until it finally showed up earlier this month. It was released in the UK in December, but it is not coming out here until February 6th. It took a couple of weeks for the approval but it finally came in. This is the book that is throwing my TBR off because I have to read it now to get my review in before release. But that is ok, I am just super excited that I get to read it.

The League of Lady Poisoners is a nonfiction book that I have been wanting to read since learning about it in the fall.My hold at the library just came and I think it is going to be worth the wait. I live the shiny cover and the illustrations are fantastic. Can’t wait to dive into this one.

The Soup Book is a birthday gift from my son. When he was home last we had a discussion about soup making and traded some recipes. He found this book for me and it has some very yummy recipes in it.I don’t ‘read’ cookbooks, although I know some people who claim they do, but I do enjoy looking through them and picking out recipes I want to try.

That is it for this week.I am hoping to stop by my favorite indie bookstore sometime next week and look for a good book to treat myself for my birthday month. So my stack might grow a bit soon.I might have to give up sleeping, eating, and my other hobbies just to get it all read.😂 Until next time…

Happy Reading!
