Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

Yesterday was a super busy day, but I did manage to make it to the library to pick up my holds for the week. I also had a pretty busy week on NetGalley, picking up three Arcs! I keep telling myself to pull back on the ARCs, but I can’t seem to help myself, especially when I see a favorite author’s name on the book.

Library books I have added to my bedside stack

I can’t remember why I put A Step Past Darkness on hold, or how I heard about it. It was probably a review. But it is another small town mystery and for at least part of it, set in the 90s. Still, it sounds good, so I will give it a chance.

The Thefts of the Mona Lisa is a nonfiction book that I heard about recently. I have always been curious about the notoriety of this famous painting and wanted to learn more about the thefts surrounding it.

I saw What Cats Want in my local Indie Bookstore last week and thought it looked quite amusing. I was able to find it at my local library and thought it would be a good book to learn more about cat behavior from. I love the illustrations.

ARC’s I’ve added to my Netgalley account

I stumbled on Such Charming Liars (July) quite by accident on NetGalley yesterday. I was looking at another book and noticed this one in the ‘Readers who liked this book also liked this’ section. Of course I had to get it as I just love Karen McManus’ books. Another standalone, but that is fine by me.

The Hermit Next Door ( June) is a very short novella, almost a short story, by a favorite author. I liked the sound of it and will hopefully squeeze it in between some other stories soon.

The One That Got Away With Murder is another audiobook ARC that I requested. It is coming out in April, but I should be able to get to it in the next week or so. It sounded too good to pass up.

Well those are my books for this week. I hope you all had a great week and managed to get some of the books on your stack read. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
