Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

Happy Saturday to you all! I hope you are all safe and happy wherever you may be. I am doing well and enjoying some nice sunshine for a change. This week was pretty uneventful, but of course all of my holds seem to be coming all at once again, especially my audiobooks. I think I had three show up in one day. It is so hard to time these things. I also added three more ARCs to my Netgalley account. One that come out in December and the other two in March 2025. Finally I visited an indie store in Seattle and purchased two middle grade books that I have been wanting to read. I will probably donate them to my old school when I am done, so I am ok with buying them.

Library books I have added to my bedside stack

Guillotine is a horror mystery/thriller novella that takes place at a mansion where the servants decide to rise up against their employers and things get out of hand.

Off The Edge is a nonfiction book about flat earthers and other conspiracy theories. I’m hoping it might shed some light on how people can believe some of these crazy theories.

So Thirsty is the one audiobook that I added this week, I put the other ones on pause. If you have been paying attention, you might remember seeing this one a couple of weeks ago. That was for the print version, so now I have a choice on how I want to read this book.

ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

Chasing Eternity (Stolen Beauty #3) is a book that has had its publication date moved around alot this year (and last I think) I’m looking forward to finishing this time travel series.

The Vanishing Kind/A Prowl of Jaguars (Alex Carter #4) I don’t know why they changed the name of this book, I like the original one better as it matches the other three books in the series. Anyways, great adventure suspense series about a wildlife biologist who always seems to get into trouble in remote areas of the country.

Finlay Donovan Digs Her Own Grave is the fifth book in this hilarious series about a single mom who always seems to get up to her ears in trouble.

Books I purchased

Wrath of the Triple Goddess is the second book in the Senior Year Adventures series about Percy Jackson. I love Percy and can’t wait to see how he handles pet sitting for one of the gods over Halloween.

The Millicent Quibb School of Etiquette for Young Ladies of Mad Science gets the prize for longest title this year. But seriously, I’ve been hearing some good things about this one and when I saw it on the shelf at the store, I knew it had to come home with me.

That’s it for this weeks Stacking the Shelves post. I have a couple more library holds coming in next week, and then hopefully my audiobooks that I had to pause. I am still trying to pull back on my Netgalley ARCs but I don’t seem to be doing a very good job of that. We shall see what turns up this week. I am looking forward to everyone else’s STS posts, I am sure I will find something good to add to my own stack. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
