Prompt: Something Scary!

About this picture:

Okay, so this isn’t exactly scary, but I so wanted to share this picture! About a year ago, Thomas Dambo, a Danish environmental artist, spent many months creating five of these trolls around the Seattle area. They are so cool and they are all made out of reclaimed materials. This particular one is name Jakob Two Trees and he lives about a half hour drive from my house. He is the only one of the five that I have seen so far, but I really hope to get to see the others at some point.

I actually took this picture in the early summer and there were at least one pair of birds nesting in one of the boxes. I stood and watched as a bird flew in an out of the grey nest box with insects for either mama bird or babies. I didn’t hear any chirping, so I suspect they were for mama bird. I am almost positive this is a bewick’s wren, although without my binoculars it was hard to make a positive id.

Thomas Dambo has been creating many of these trolls around the world. Here is a link to the map so you can see if there is one close to you. They are a lot of fun to look at and explore. If you click on the Xs the links take you to more information about that troll. Have fun exploring.
