October was quite the month. I had periods where I was really busy and then others when I just had nothing to do by read. The weather started off nice, but the last week or so was quite cold and rainy. But good reading weather for sure.
I managed to read all of my books on my TBR, plus quite a few more. I read 4 ARCs, three of which were very good. I listened to 4 audiobooks and enjoyed all of those. I read books for all of my challenges plus enough others to make a grand total of 17 books this month.
I am still following the same layout as the last few months, just highlighting my favorites for the month. I had to use one book twice though, mostly because it was that good, but I also listened to the audiobooks for two of my challenges.
Favorite ARCs

*The Legacy of Arniston House was my favorite ARC this month. I loved being back in this world and we learned a bit more about Ropa’s family.
*Wheel of the Infinite was good, I just wished it had moved a bit faster. But still I enjoyed the characters, the world building was phenomenal and the plot was interesting.
*In Want of a Suspect was also quite good and charming in it’s own way. I just wish that the characters didn’t feel so modern.
Reading Challenge Books

*Lula Dean’s Little Library of Banned Books (Epic Reading Challenge: Banned Book) For this challenge I was suppose to read a banned book, but I couldn’t find one that I wanted to read, mostly because I have read many of them. So I’m cheating a little bit here with a book about banned books.
*🎧My Best Friend’s Exorcism (Buzzword Reading Challenge: Relationships) was wildly funny for a horror book. I loved the 1980’s vibe and all of the references to the music, movies, tv shows, as well as the character’s dialogue and attitudes.
*🎧Unruly: The Ridiculous History of England’s Kings and Queens (Nonfiction Reading Challenge): Was so much fun and I did learn a little bit of history along the way.
Favorite Reads

*So Thirsty was also a really good book. I enjoyed the ride or die friendship and the journey of the main character’s acceptance of who she is.
*The Black Loch was so good. I really didn’t want this one to end, but thought it ended on a good note.
*The Drowning House was really good, though a little slow to start. I just loved the creepy feel to the middle and the end was quite explosive!
Favorite Audiobooks

*Paladin’s Faith was a good addition to the series. I just wished I liked the main romantic couple as much as a secondary pairing that never really took off.
*The Fate of Magic was also a solid second book in a duology. I just wanted the story to move a bit faster and there to be a bit more flare to the writing.
*Unruly was just so good that I had to include it twice, which is saying something for a nonfiction book. Highly recommend that you listen to the audiobook read by the author. He is hilarious and really brings such a dry topic to life.

I look forward to seeing all of your posts on how your October reading went. I love getting ideas for new books to read.
Until next time…
I heard that My Best Friend’s Exorcism is funny. Have you seen the movie?
Have a great November reading month.

I wasn’t aware there was a movie. But the book was pretty funny in a very dark way.
