My February 2025 TBR

Second month, a second chance to get my TBR right. It was a bit of a struggle to finish my TBR last month, and I only had six books listed. One wasn’t totally my fault though. When I wrote that post I had a notification that one of my books from the library would be ready in a couple of weeks. Well that book didn’t show up until today. So I learned a lesson, that in reality I kind of already knew, but this was a good reminder. But that is ok. I still had a really good reading month. February is shaping up to be a good month too with many good books on my list to read. Here are at least 8 of the books that I plan on reading this month.

ARCs I need to read

The Vanishing Kind ( March 4th) is the fourth book in the Alex Carter series. I really enjoy these mystery thrillers with an environmental twist. This one is about immigration and jaguars.

A Brush with Death (March 13th) is the fourth book in a series as well. I found the first two books likable enough that I am willing to give this one a try. I think this one doesn’t come out until May in the states. The 3/13 date is the British release date.

This Book Will Bury Me (March 25th) is a mystery thriller as well. I read and liked one of the author’s other books so thought I would give this one a try. The premise sounded interesting and I’m hoping it will be really good.

When the Moon Hits Your Eye (March 25) is the book I am looking forward to the most this month. It sounds like a very funny read. The moon suddenly turns into cheese and as you can imagine all sorts of chaos ensues. It has multiple points of view and has already received a lot of attention in the ‘official’ review world. (By official I mean the librarian and other established review magazines)

Other books I plan to read

Holmes is Missing is the second book in this series starring three detectives named after three famous fictional sleuths, Holmes, Marple and Poe (although Poe isn’t strictly a fictional character). I really enjoyed the first book and I am looking forward to reading the second one.

The Big Redhead Book is a nonfiction book that I ran across last month when I was looking for a book that had a character with red hair for a tag I was doing. Being a redhead myself I thought I should read this.

Hope for the Best is the 10th book in the Chronicles of St Mary’s series. History has gone rogue this time and something is going on with the wrong Tudor on the throne. Sounds like a great time.

The Bletchley Riddle is a historical middle grade fiction that centers around the ultra secret code breaking that the British got up to during the second world war. It has two great authors, one known for her historical fiction, the other for his nonfiction history books, so it should be interesting to see how the two work together.

After writing this post I am even more excited about my reading in February. I did just notice that I didn’t put any romance on the list for Valentine’s day. I do have at least one romance I hope to get to this month, but I might not either. Then of course I’ve been a bit of a mood reader lately so many of these might get tossed to the side in favor of a romance. We’ll have to wait and see. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
