Happy Wednesday to you all! I hope your week is going well. I have just returned from my visit to the east coast to spend time with my family. Yesterday was a long day and I am feeling a bit jet lagged today, but I couldn’t wait to get back to my blog to tell you about the books that I am reading. It was a pretty good week, with three books and a novella finished and all of them were pretty good.

What am I currently reading?

The Tainted Khan is the second book in the Soulbound Saga and so far I am enjoying it. It has been a bit slow moving, but I am finding the world fascinating to learn about.

Storm Waters is a book I just started last night after a very long flight. I am only in a few chapters, but I’m not too impressed yet. It might just be my tired jet lagged brain though, so I will give it another chance and hopefully it will be better.

Wooing the Witch Queen is my current audiobook that I am starting today. I am looking forward to listening to this story as I love this authors middle grade books. I didn’t know until recently that she wrote adult books, so I am excited to get going on this one.

What have I recently finished reading?

The Geographer’s Map to Romance was just as wonderful as the first book in the series. I just adored Elodie and Gabriel and it was a lot of fun watching them finally admit their feelings for each other.

The Lost Bookshop was good, but perhaps a bit on the long side. I enjoyed the two time lines and the magical realism in the story. I am a bit on the fence about reading the next book in the series.

Warriorborn is a novella set in the Cinder Spires world. It takes place just before the start of the second book and explains how Benedict meets Fenli and the other small cats that are an important part of the second book.

Mask of the Deer Woman was surprisingly good. The mystery was well done and I loved the setting. The characters were a little bit harder to love, but I have hope that this will be a good detective mystery series.

What will I read next?

The Bug Bandits is my next ARC that I plan on reading. It is a middle grade book about a bug loving girl who has to protect the rare insects in her father’s museum.

Sword Catcher is a reread before I tackle the next book. It has been about a year and a half since I read it and I know that I have forgotten quite a lot. Even though it is long it reads pretty quickly so hopefully I can get it done soon.

Little Thieves is also a reread that I just feel compelled to do. I really struggled with the third book in the series, which made me very sad. I am hoping that if I reread the first two books and then reread the third that I will enjoy it more. This is my next audiobook.

So my plan is to get caught up on my reviews the rest of this week. I don’t know if I will write a review for all of the books I read while on vacation, but I will do at least two of them. Until next time…

Happy Reading!

  1. I see 3 books on my own TBR! I recently bought Little Thieves and The Lost Bookshop, sorry to hear about Little Thieves hopefully, you will like it more this time around. Also, Wooing the Witch Queen sounds right up my alley. My fingers are crossed that you will end up loving it 🙂

  2. I’m glad to hear this about Wooing the Witch Queen! Yeah, this happens a lot, especially when there is a trilogy/series, the first books are great and then they slowly progress to be awful or viceversa lol this happened to me with Miss peregrine’s home for peculiar children. The last few books were utter disappointment.
