My July 2025 TBR

How is it that I am already talking about my July reading! Life just seems to go by so fast these days. I’m okay with it, especially because the books I have lined up for my summer reading are ones that I am super excited about. All of my ARCs are by author’s whose books I adore, so hopefully those will be good. The others I have picked I hope will be good as well.

ARCs I need to read

The Magician of Tiger Castle (8/5) is by one of my favorite middle grade authors. This is his first adult novel and it sounds like a really good one. It is a cozy historical fantasy, the perfect thing to read in the summer.

The Incredible Kindness of Paper (8/12) is another book that I am really looking forward to reading. It is about childhood penpals that find each other once again as adults. There is also a touch of magical realism that has to do with origami roses.

Hemlock and Silver ( 8/19) is a dark reimagining of Snow White that knowing this author will be very different from all other retellings. I just love that cover too.

Five Found Dead (8/19) is a murder mystery thriller that takes place on none other than the Orient Express. Knowing this author, it too will be unlike any other retelling of this famous mystery.

Katabasis (8/26) is the newest one by another favorite author. This is a fantasy romance about a couple of graduate students who must journey to hell to save their professor’s soul. Sounds a bit like it is an enemies to lovers story as well.

Other books I plan to read

Hell’s Half-Acre is my nonfiction read for the month. I found this in a little bookshop on the Oregon coast and thought it sounded really interesting. It is a true crime book about a family that committed a lot of murders in the old west and I think they were never caught.

People We Meet on Vacation sounded like the perfect book to read while I was on vacation. I happen to own a copy which makes it even more perfect as I then don’t need to worry if I lose it or something else happens to it.

First Time Caller is an audiobook that I know I will be reading this month. I have it loaded already on my phone for when I am done with my current read. It is a contemporary romance inspired by the movie Sleepless in Seattle.

I have a lot of ARCs to read this month, but I will have a lot of time for reading so it will all work out in the end. I have many more books lined up besides these eight, but I’ve only listed the ones I am 100% sure I will read. The others will happen depending on what I feel like reading at the time. I hope that you have a great summer reading list with many favorites. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
