Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

I am back home now and catching up on sleep and chores that didn’t get done while I was gone. I did not add a lot of books this week, just three, but they are all really good ones.

Library books I have added to my bedside stack

The Rushworth Family Plot by Claudio Gray

Mr Darcy and Miss Tilney #4

Published June 17, 2025

I was pretty excited to get home and pick this one up from the library. I really enjoyed the first three books in this series and am so looking forward to reading this one. These books are based on the Jane Austen books, with characters from all of them being featured in each book. The two main characters are the son of Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett. Miss Tilney is the daughter of characters from one of the other books, but I forget which one. The mysteries are really good and I just adore the two main characters. Check out my review for the first book in the series, The Murder of Mr Wickham.

ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

Moonleapers by Margaret Peterson Haddix

Publication Date: September 16, 2025

One of my goals this year was to read more middle grade, which I haven’t been very successful at accomplishing. So when I saw this book by one of my favorite middle grade science fiction authors I just had to request it. This is a time travel book with an old phone and lots of puzzles to solve. I just love that cover too. Can’t wait to read this one. This is also the start of a new series so that should be exciting.

The Creeping Hand Mystery by Maureen Johnson and Jay Cooper

Publication Date: September 16, 2025

I was approached by the publisher a couple of months ago to review this book, but I could tell that it would be better in hard copy as opposed to the ebook version. It has lots of pictures and it is a solve it yourself kind of book. I was guessing there would be lots of flipping between the pages to solve the mystery. So I requested that they send me a hard copy ARC and it arrived while I was on vacation. It looks wonderful and I have already started it, but haven’t gotten very far. I hope that I can solve the mystery!

Audiobooks

No new audiobooks to report this week, which is a good thing as I have two to get through in two weeks when they are both due back. I am hoping that a new one comes along by the time I am done with them.
