January Birthstone: Garnet

This will be the second year that I will be participating in this fun book tag. I’m really looking forward to finding new books for each of the months. January is my birthday month, so I have a special love for the garnet. This month is a mix of books I’ve read and ones I want to read.

Books I have read

The Crimson Throne has a great cover for this month’s birthstone. It was also a great historical fantasy and I am really looking forward to reading the sequel hopefully this year!

Red City was also a favorite book of mine from last year. I loved the characters and the setting in this futuristic fantasy. This is another one that I am looking forward to reading the sequel later this year.

The Dire King is the fourth book in the Jackaby series. This is a series I read quite a number of years ago, but I remember loving it. It is a great historical fantasy mystery series.

Books I haven’t yet read

King of Ashes is a book I meant to read last year, but didn’t get around to. But I love the many layers of red on this one.

Blood Bound is a book I just recently ran across and fell in love with the cover. It is a romatasy with dueling witches and dragon riders. It has been getting a few good reviews so it is something I’m keeping in mind.

The Infinity Courts is such a pretty cover, and I am hoping it is more red then pink in real life. But still it does remind me a bit of a garnet in the lighter shades that it can run.

That was fun! I am looking forward to doing this again next month as February’s birthstone is Amethyst, which of course is purple, my favorite color. Until next time…
