Quarter Year Crisis Book Tag! 2026 Edition

This tag was created by Roisin’s Reading on BookTube.

This will be the fourth year that I have done this tag. This one will focus more on the overall picture of the last three months. If you are interested in more specifics about what I have read and enjoyed, check out my Reading Firsts 2026 post. Also check out my post from past years:

How many books have you read so far?

So far this year I have read 48 books and all of them have been pretty darn good.

Have you found a book that you think might be a 2025 favourite?

This was a hard one, as nothing really has stood out to me yet this year, but these three all got 5 stars and were excellent books that I would recommend.

Any least favourite book of the year?

These weren’t exactly my least favorite, I didn’t really have any books I rated less than a 3.5 stars. But these were the ones that I felt somehow let down by. Either it wasn’t what I expected or there was just something missing from the story to make it one that I loved.

Most read genre?

Not too surprising, although many of the mysteries were also historical fiction, fantasies and science fiction, and also a few romances too. Many overlapping genres this year.

A book that surprised me?

Surprised but in a good way. This wasn’t at all what I was expecting, but it was so good that I didn’t mind at all.

A book that has come out in 2026 that I haven’t yet read?

So many books! But these three have been on my list since last year and have been out for a few weeks each.

One goal you made that you’re succeeding at?

I am doing really well on all of my challenges. I am right on target for completing all of them. I am especially having a really good time with the 52 Book Club Challenge this year.

Well that is my first three months of the year in a nutshell. I have been really enjoying my books this year and hopefully that will continue. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
