April seemed like a really long month to me. The weather was all over the place all month long which is what made it seem so long. One day it felt like spring and the next we were back in winter. Very confusing.
I did have a good reading month though, with many, many four star, almost five star reads. I’m also continuing to keep up on my challenges which is great. Here is the graphic with all of my reads for the month from Storygraph.

See how many really good stories I read this month? Let’s take a closer look at some of my favorites.
Favorite ARCs

While all of my ARCs were quite good, these three stood out to me as being particularly memorable. The Anniversary has a very unique premise of only telling the story on the anniversary of an event. Seek the Traitor’s Son is a great story that was a blend of science fiction and fantasy. A Deadly Episode is the sixth book in the Hawthorne and Horowitz series and is just as good as all of the others.
Other ARCs I read and enjoyed and also recommend:
A Zoom With a View Startup Hell Villain
Reading Challenge Books

The Tomb of the Mili Mongga was my nonfiction for the month. Although it was very dry it was still interesting. Finlay Donovan Crosses the Line was hilarious and a great addition to the series. The Last Hour Between Worlds was a great mix of science fiction and fantasy. I enjoyed the characters, the world building and the story.
Other Favorite Reads

River of Bones was such a great collection of short stories by one of my favorite authors. I especially liked the story set in the Sixth World series. Agnes Aubert’s Mystical Cat Shelter was such a sweet and cozy fantasy. I just loved the cats! The Somewhat Wicked Witch of Brigandale was also a very fun cozy fantasy without a romance! Your Behavior Will Be Monitored was one of the most interesting AI stories I have read with an ending that totally went a different way than what I was expecting.

I hope your reading month was just as much fun as mine. I am really looking forward to all of my reading in May, as I have quite a good lineup of books planned. Until next time…
What a great reading month! And some beautiful covers that have me considering them.
