Stacking the Shelves: My Vacation Stack

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

This Stacking the Shelves is going to be slightly different. I am leaving tomorrow to spend over two weeks on the east coast visiting family. So these are all the books I plan on taking with me both the physical ones and the ones downloaded from Libby.

Usually when I travel I try to bring only paperback books and no library books. The paperback rule is obvious, its a weight and sometimes size issue. The library book rule is just a me thing. I always worry that I will leave it somewhere or something else will happen to it. But that is mostly when I won’t be staying in one place. This visit I will be staying with my mom and niece and not moving around, so I felt safe bringing at least one library book.

Physical books I am taking with me.

A Catalogue of Catastrophe is the library book I will be bringing. I checked it out a couple of months ago, and I still haven’t gotten to it. It has been renewed twice, which I think is the limit, so I really need to get it done!

Swordheart is a hardcover book that I decided to take with me, maybe. If I don’t have room for it in my suitcase then I will substitute something else. But I really hope it will fit. This is a reread in preparation for reading Daggerbound next month.

Six Years is a book that I just picked up a couple of days ago at my library’s little bookshop. I have never read a book by this author, but I have been enjoying the Netflix series The Stranger which is based on one of his books. I thought I would give this one a chance.

Ebooks that I’ve loaded on my ipad

Three Days in April is the debut book by this author. I have read all of his other books, but somehow missed this one. So looking forward to reading this one.

Uncommon Grounds is a cozy mystery that I picked up simply because it takes place in a coffee shop. This is a prompt in one of my challenges. Still it sounds good so I am excited to read it.

The Unknown is an ARC that I need to read in July and so I will probably at least start it on my trip. I love this author’s work and I am excited to read this one.

Audiobooks

Blue Monday is a first book in a mystery series that all have a day of the week in the title. This is also a book I picked because of a challenge, but it also sounds like a book that I will enjoy.

The Flatshare is another challenge book. I have only read one other book by this author and had mixed feelings about it, but thought I would give them another chance. I like the premise of this one of roommates who never see each other yet fall in love.

One Knight Stand is on of my most anticipated reads for this year. I just loved the first book, Lady’s Knight, and I am super excited about listening to this sequel. It hopefully will be just as funny as the first one. I’m already laughing just looking at that cover.

This seems like a lot of books for just two and a half weeks, but two of those days will be spent on a plane. The flights are about six hours long with a layover in the middle of the country. But with all of these books to keep me entertained, I’m sure the time will fly past.

Well that is it for this week’s Stacking the Shelves. Looking forward to seeing what others have added to their stacks this week. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
