Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!
In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.
The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.
Happy Saturday! I hope you are having a fine weekend. Mine has been pretty good so far. I plan on spending some of it outside as we are having some lovely dry weather this weekend. It will probably be yard work, but still it will be nice to be out.
I have four lovely books to talk about this week. One library book, an ARC and then I actually bought two books this week. I had a couple of hours to kill between a dentist and a dr. appointment, so of course I went to the bookstore! I went to the local Barnes and Noble as they were the closest between the two appointments. I was only planning to browse, but these two books caught my eye and I decided that they had to come home with me.
Library books I have added to my bedside stack

Over My Dead Body has been on my TBR for awhile so when I saw it on display at the library I decided to pick it up. I love a good story about a ghost solving their own murder. This one sounds like it might also be a bit funny as well. I great book to start the spooky season with.
ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

The Black Cats Bookshop showed up in an email this morning from Netgalley and I just had to take a look at it. And of course once I looked I decided that I had to read it. This is a cozy mystery set in Italy in of course a bookshop. Sounds like it has a great group of characters and of course some bookshop cats!
Purchased Books

The Last Gifts of the Universe was sitting out on B&N’s monthly pick for science fiction. I liked the title and the summary sounded intriguing. Then I read the first sentence and was hooked. This is a debut book that came out awhile ago. It sounds pretty funny and I love that they have a cat on their spaceship. I hope to cuddle up with this one soon.

The Midnight Guest is also a B&N monthly pick but for mysteries. This is an historical mystery thriller set in the 1920’s in a grand hotel in London. It sounds very twisty and I also really enjoy books set in this time period. I read The Queen of Fives and really enjoyed it, so decided to take a chance on another book by this author.

Well that is it for this week’s Stacking the Shelves. Looking forward to seeing what others have added to their stacks this week. Until next time…
