WWW Wednesday

Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What have you recently finished reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Happy Wednesday everyone! It is a beautiful day here in the lovely PNW. The sun is shining and the leaves are changing colors. It is the perfect day to be outside and enjoying the crisp fall air. Or, cuddling up with your favorite hot drink and a good book.

I had a pretty good reading week. I enjoyed all of my books, although they all were a tad on the slow and long side. But still really good books. I hopefully will get some reviews done over the next couple of days. I just finished two of my books yesterday, so haven’t really started two of my current reads, but I will today so I am counting them. The best news this week is that I have finished the 52 Book Club’s Reading Challenge! I am still working on some of the bonus prompts, but still excited about finishing the main challenge.

Has anyone else noticed that Goodreads has finally added partial stars? I was quite surprised when I went to update my books and found that I could actually rate the book how I felt. It has only taken them forever to do this, but at least they got there eventually.

What am I currently reading?

After reading some rather dark and kind of slow books, I am looking for something lighter and hopefully funnier and maybe have a faster pace. Monsters of Ohio and Over My Dead Body certainly look like they will fit that bill. I am starting both of these today so can’t say anything about them yet, except that I hope they will be fun.

To Dream in Darkness is stunningly beautiful and I am so glad that I took a chance on it. I am very close to finishing it and probably will today. Highly recommend this one.

What have I recently finished reading?

Grim Folk Tale was very dark, but very well done. The character development in this one was amazing, especially considering it is the fourth one in the series.

Piper at the Gates of Dusk was also a really dark but wonderfully done science fiction. I enjoyed it, but probably should have revisited the Chaos Walking books first. There was a lot that I forgot and the explanations about the Noise were not as fully developed in this one. This might not work for some people, but fans of the first series will enjoy it.

Earthbound was the final book in the Earthbound series and had a wonderful ending. It was bittersweet, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. A really good epic fantasy series that I recommend.

What will I read next?

A Destiny So Cruel is my next ARC that I need to read. So looking forward to seeing how this duology ends.

50 True Stories That Will Scare You To Death is my nonfiction read this month. I hope I don’t have to sleep with the lights on after reading these stories.

The Door-to-Door Bookstore is a book I picked up because of the 52 book club’s bonus prompts for October. I needed a book set in Germany and I found this one about books and friendship.

That is it for this week’s edition of WWW Wednesday. I hope the rest of your week is marvelous and that you are enjoying your reading.

Until next time…

Happy Reading!

  1. I really enjoyed Over My Dead Body and hope that you do too. I hadn’t noticed that Goodreads now had partial stars. I can see a lot of half stars in my future 😃
