Top Picks of 2106

top-picks-2016

Sorry I haven’t written in awhile.  I’ve been spending my blogging time modifying my blog.  Still not sure if this is the one but I wanted to try out a blog post with the new theme. I’m a very visual person so I’m looking for a more visual layout than the standard blog.  Sorry that the change in themes has totally messed up the formatting of my previous posts.  Once I’ve made a decision on layout, I’ll work on fixing things (or not).

Onto the topic for today.  2016 was a very busy year for me as far as reading goes.  I read around 106 books and listened to 36 audiobooks.  I’m not sure how accurate those numbers are, as I think I forgot to write down a few. You would think it would be easy to pick my top ten books out of so many, but I really struggle with picking favorites.  Many times when people ask me what my favorite book is, I often answer with the title of the book I just finished reading as that is the one currently residing in my short term memory, and my long term memory can’t cope with searching through all of those titles and choosing one! This question often ends up making my head explode.  So instead of a top ten list, I’m just going to list some books and series that really stood out in my mind.

New Series I discovered by new to me authors:

Series that ended this year and ended well:

And Finally my favorite covers of the year:

This cover is my absolute favorite of the year.  The picture does not do it justice.  You really need to see it to see the fine details and to see all of it, including the back.

Well this is my wrap up of 2016.  It was a good year for books, but I am looking forward to a new year of good reads.
