September Monthly Wrap-Up

monthly wrap up

September was kind of crazy month.  My school schedule is very different this year and I have been having a hard time getting used to it.  Most nights I have been almost too exhausted for much of anything, but I did manage to get quite a bit of reading in, though my audiobook time has been pretty low this month.  I finished 14 books and only two of them were re-reads.  For the most part I enjoyed all of the books I read, though some were better than others.

I have written reviews for almost all of these books this month.  The rest I should be getting done either this week or in the next few.  Most I am waiting to review until I have the series done.

I have really been enjoying the Every series by Ellie Marney.  It is sort of contemporary Sherlock Holmes, but set in Australia.  Very fast paced and a great relationship between the two main characters.

I also really like the Archived, and have started the second book.   The concept of what happens to you after death in this book is very interesting and I am looking forward to seeing what happens next.

I am still waiting on my library copy of The Towering Sky so I can finish up the Thousandth Floor trilogy.  I listened to the audiobooks of the first two books this month.  Although I liked the narrator, this is a book that seriously needed multiple narrators.  The girls have pretty distinct personalities, but different voices would have helped keep them straight.  I am really looking forward to seeing how everything wraps up in this series.

I can not stress enough that you all need to read the Murderbot books.  Even if you don’t like sci-fi you should give these a try.  They just might change your mind.

My Plans for October

As usually happens to me in September I have started losing ground with my NetGalley reads.  I still have four ARC’s that are coming out in October.  One of them is a middle-grade so should be pretty quick.  But the other four are like 300+ pages each, so hopefully I will get them done before publication.  Not sure what else I will be reading this month.  I am rethinking how I want to tackle my TBR but I will save that for a later post once I have made some decisions.  These are the four ARCs I will be getting done this month.

So, that is a wrap for the month of September.  I hope your September reads were as good as mine.  Until next month, happy reading.
