January 2020 Releases

That I am super excited about!

I know I am a little bit late with this one, but I’m okay with that. I have decided to make this a monthly post. I based my choices books on these three criteria:

  • Books in series I have started
  • Books by authors I love
  • Books that have just caught my eye

I’m still super excited about these books even though a couple have come out already. All titles are linked to their GoodRead pages, just in case you want to add them to your TBR!

One of Us is Next by Karen McManus (1-7-20)

I loved the first two books this author wrote and this is a sequel to One of Us is Lying which was an amazing debut. Can’t wait to return and see what these characters are up to now.

Every Other Weekend by Abigail Johnson (1-7-20)

I am pretty picky about the contemporaries that I choose to read, but there is just something about this one that keeps me coming back to it. It has been getting a lot of 4 and 5 star reviews, so I might give it a chance.

Scavenge the Stars by Tara Sim (1-7-20)

This ones sounds really interesting, and I usually really like revenge stories. Plus it is a retelling of the Count of Monte Cristo, a classic that I read once a really long time ago.

Infinity Son by Adam Silvera (1-14-20)

I haven’t yet read any books by Adam Silvera, but I have several on my TBR. This one sounds really good though, so it may become my first. Plus I like brother stories.

The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson (1-21-20)

This is the final book in this really amazing series. Can’t wait to get my hands on this one.

Spellhacker by M.K. England (1-21-20)

I did not read this author’s debut The Disasters, but I heard good things about it. Plus I can never pass up on a book about a heist. The premise of magic as a commodity, being bought and sold, sounds really interesting.

So even though I am super excited about these, I don’t know when I will get to some of them. A couple I have on hold at the library, so I will probably read those, but the others, hopefully soon.

Have you read any of these yet? What books are you excited about this month? Let me know in the comments.

  1. This is such a great list! I only discovered Every Other Weekend about two weeks ago and ever since then I’ve been seeing it every where and have become even more keen to read it. It sounds so good and yes, has been getting great reviews! I’m also excited to read McManus’ sequel. I hope you enjoy all of these whenever you get to them 🙂
