The Birthday Book Tag

Yes, today is my birthday! What better way to celebrate with you than doing the Birthday Tag! I combined several different Birthday tags and added a few of my own to come up with the prompts.

Count your birthday along your bookshelf and then subtract your birth month.

Wow, that was a lot of counting, hey I’m old. But the book I landed on was luckily a favorite of mine. I’m going to go take a little nap now after all of that counting.

Find a book that takes place in the season you were born in.

This is the most recent book I have read that is set in winter, during a snowstorm no less.

Find a book that is the color of your birthstone.

The January Birthstone is a garnet, which is sort of a deep almost purple red. The closest I could find was this book. It is a bit more red than I wanted but it still sort of reminds me of a garnet.

Find an author or a famous person who shares your birthday.

Lots of famous people share my birthday, but the two authors that I could find are Benjamin Franklin and Anne Bronte. I was hoping for someone more contemporary, but oh well. I am happy with these two.

Find a book published the year you were born.

This is probably going to give away my age, but this book was published in my birth year and was probably my favorite book from my childhood. I still have my original copy somewhere.

If you could spend your birthday with any fictional character, who would it be and why?

This was a tough one, so many choices, but I think this was the first book I thought of for this prompt. I would love to spend time with Kell and Delilah and the rest of the gang in Red London.

What book or bookish item do you want for your birthday?

I usually buy a book for myself and then gift one to my school library. This year I am going to gift myself Infinity Son as it came out this week and I really want to read it. I will gift a copy of Race to the Sun to my school. I think the kids will love it.

I hope you enjoyed my birthday post. Is there anything special you like to do on your birthday?
