GoodReads Monday

This weekly meme was started by @Lauren’s Page Turners. It is now being hosted by Budget Tales Book Blog. To participate, choose a random book from your GoodReads TBR and show it off. Which sounds easy enough until you have to decide how to choose that book! I think I will use a different way each week, like picking a color or number of pages. I will let you know each week how I chose the book and then something interesting about it, like how it ended up on the list or why I want to read it. Got it? Okay let’s get started.

This week’s pick was a pretty easy one. I noticed a week or so ago that there was a cover for one of my most anticipated reads of the year and so I just had to share it all with you. I still have to wait till September to get my hands on it, but I really like the cover! It fits so well with the first two in the series.

The Golden Enclaves by Naomi Novak

Publication date: September 27, 2022

Summary from GoodReads:

Saving the world is a test no school of magic can prepare you for in the triumphant conclusion to the New York Times bestselling trilogy that began with A Deadly Education and The Last Graduate.

Almost single handedly–although backed by an increasingly large cadre of genuine friends–El has changed the nature of the Scholomance forever. But now that she is back in the real world, how will the lessons she learned inside the school apply? Will her grandmother’s prophecy come true? Will she really spell the doom of all the enclaves forever?

As the quest to save her one true love ramps up, however, El is about to learn the most significant lesson of all–the dire truth on which the enclaves and the whole stability of the magical world are founded. And being El, she is not likely to let it lie….

According to Goodreads this one is only 240 ppgs long, which I find hard to believe, considering how long the first two books were. Hopefully that will change as we get closer to the date. I can’t imagine wrapping up this story in so few pages. I am super excited no matter how long it is though. I really enjoy this dark fantasy and can’t wait to see how it all will end.
