Looking Back – Favorite Book Covers of 2022

Part of the holiday tradition in December is to look back at the year and think about the things you did, or sometimes didn’t do. For the next few weeks I will be looking back at all of the books I have read this year and picking some favorites. This week I have decided to look at all of the wonderful book covers and pick my 10 favorites. I limited myself to only looking at books published this year for this prompt.

Favorite Book Covers of 2022

Well Traveled was such a fun book and I really loved the shade of purple they chose for it.

I really liked Flight Risk’s cover. It is so bright and fun, and there are hints to the story inside as well.

Cursed is such a perfect dark cover for this dark retelling of Rumpelstiltskin. I really like they way they made the cape flow down the mountain covered in beasts.

The Dragon’s Promise also has a stellar cover. I also like the UK version which is a lot softer because of the pastels that they used.

The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy is also quite fun. I love the color combination and the skeleton hands creating a heart.

The Woman in the Library has a great cover. It is kind of creepy, but I really like the dust effect they created around the pages.

Book of Night has such a simple but still stunning cover. I really like how they made the cover look like torn leather.

Gallant has a really interesting cover. I keep noticing new things everytime I look at it. It wasn’t my favorite book by Schwab, but it was still an interesting cover.

I think I picked up A Spoonful of Murder just because of the whimsical cover. I really like that mug with the cat’s tail extending into the handle, such fun.

Fall leaves on any cover will get my attention, but this cover for Nine Liars, with the stairwell in the middle and the large white letters for the title is just amazing.

What was your favorite book cover from this year?
