The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. It was relaunched on February 15, 2013 by Billy@Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
This week’s prompt is:
Did Santa bring you any books?
(submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)
I know Christmas hasn’t happened yet, so I don’t know for sure what Santa will be bringing me… But I know it won’t be a book. I don’t usually receive books as presents, mostly because my family and friends know how much I read and unless they keep tabs on my books they don’t know for sure if I have read the book or not. They usually will ask if I have read something and then just recommend it to me if I haven’t. My husband and son will sometimes give me a book, but it is usually one that I have requested, so they know it is safe.
All that said, I do usually buy myself a special book that I have had my eye on around this time of year. This year I splurged and bought the Illustrated copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. If you have not seen this series of books illustrated by Jim Kay, you really should seek them out. They are absolutely gorgeous and really enhance the story with their illustrations. I have all of the previous ones too, and I just love pulling them out and looking at the pictures. They are worth the hefty price tag, at least I think they are.

Sadly this is the last one that will be illustrated by Jim Kay, he is stepping down after working on these books for 10 years. I am sad to see him go, but wish him well and hope that Bloomsbury chooses a worthy successor.
