I was never a huge reader of nonfiction, but I did used to read anywhere from 1-5 nonfiction books a year. But the last five years or so I seem to have totally stopped reading it, except for a few children’s books I’ve read for work. I’m not really sure why I have stopped, but it kind of bugs me. My husband pretty much only reads nonfiction, and we watch a lot of documentaries on TV, so maybe I feel like that is enough? I don’t know, but I somehow feel that I am missing out by not reading nonfiction books, especially since there are so many good ones out there. I have seen this challenge around on the blogs I follow and I have decided that this is the year I am going to get back into it.
I am going for the easy challenge, the Nonfiction Nibbler, and try to read at least 3 nonfiction books this year. But maybe I will read more. I was looking over on NetGalley to see if there were any ARC’s that peaked my interest and so far I have found and requested two, so off to a good start. There are also a couple of nonfiction books around the house that I keep meaning to pick up. (My husband would be thrilled if I finally read Hillbilly Elegy)
If you are interested in joining the challenge, it is hosted by Shelleyrae over at book’dout. You can find all of the rules and the sign up sheet here.
Wish me luck!
