WWW Wednesday

April has started off with a bang! We had about a 1/2 inch of hail on Sunday that was still around Monday morning. It still hasn’t warmed up much past 50 the last few days either. Our typical weather this time of year is the low 60’s so this has been a bit disheartening. But it hasn’t kept the trees and flowers from blooming. It is very beautiful with everything blooming even with the gray skies and cold weather.

My reading week was pretty good. I enjoyed the three books I finished and I am enjoying the ones that I have started!

What am I currently reading?

The Late Mrs Willoughby has started off a bit slow as the characters get established and the murder is being set up. I am really enjoying being back with Jonathan and Juliet again though.

Disaster Inc starts of with a bang and just kept going. I really hope Bunny gets his cup of tea soon or the shite will really start to hit the fan. I feel his pain about the tea, I often have the same issue when I travel, not being able to find a decent cuppa.

Marion Lane and the Midnight Murder is my current audiobook. This is a reread because I recently received the ARC for the third book in the series and I really wanted to refresh my memory of the first two before tackling it.

What have I recently finished reading?

The Malevolent Seven was such a good read, I think one of my favorites so far this year. I am really hoping there is a sequel as that ending really left me hanging.

A Ghost of Caribou was really good. I enjoyed the story and which had a couple of twists that were totally unexpected.

A Beautiful Darkness was also good, I really enjoyed seeing the tunnels and learning more about the caster world.

What will I read next?

Perilous Times is really the only sure thing that I will be reading next. It is the next ARC I need to read. I am looking forward to this version of the King Arthur legend.

Standing by the Wall I think will be my next physical book. It is a collection of short stories set in the Slough House world. I think I have read some of them but not all, so it should be a quick read.

My next audiobook should be Marion Lane and the Deadly Rose. But I might choose something else depending on if some holds I have at the library show up.
