WWW Wednesday

April showers bring May flowers, but I’m not sure it is worth it. We have had nothing but rain the last few days and it is getting quite depressing. I was hoping to spend some of my Spring break outdoors, but so far that isn’t happening. It is suppose to get better by the end of the week, so hopefully I will get some outdoor time.

But the rain does help with one thing. It makes me feel like staying indoors and cuddling up with a good book next to the fire. Which I have done. I managed to read six books since last week, but decided to include only the three that were the most recent here.

What am I currently reading?

Perilous Times is my current ARC and so far I am enjoying it. I am finding the premise very interesting and the near future setting quite dire and depressing, but yet somehow quite truthful.

The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi is a book I have heard good things about and so far it is living up to the hype.

If We Were Villains is my current audiobook. I have only just started it but I am already hooked. I think this will be a book I listen to a lot in the next few days.

What have I recently finished reading?

The Late Mrs. Willoughby was very good and quite engaging. I loved spending time with Darcy and Miss Tilney again.

Standing by the Wall was a collection of short stories set in the world of the Slough House series. I had already read a couple of them, but it was fun to read the new ones. The last one felt like a set up for the next book.

Marion Lane and the Midnight Murder was a reread, and this time around I listened to the audiobook. I’m glad I decided to reread this one as I have forgotten so much about the characters and the world. The audiobook was well done and one I would recommend.

What will I read next?

Bad Summer People is the next ARC I need to read for May. I am looking forward to this murder mystery set on Fire Island.

Stealing Infinity is a time travel book by an author I like. I received an ARC for the second book in the series, which comes out in June, so I need to get this one read.

Marion Land and the Deadly Rose will be my next audiobook and is another reread. The Third book comes out in June and I have an ARC for it, so I need to get this done soon as well.

Well I really hope the weather starts to get less rainy and if not that at least warmer. But at least the rain is an excuse to be inside and reading!
