Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. It was relaunched on February 15, 2013 by Billy@Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

This week’s topic is:

Have you ever been told that you have an excessive number of books? If so, what was your reaction?

No, I don’t think I have ever had anyone say that to me, except maybe my husband who was only teasing. I am pretty good with keeping my book limit down, mostly because I am a regular user of my local library, but also I just don’t feel the need to have a lot of books. I feel that books are for sharing, so the few I do buy usually find their ways to new homes, either by my giving them to a school or the local used bookstore or even the nearby Little Free Library and to friends and family of course. I do keep a few favorites, and these are usually ones that I have read more than once, or I have some other attachment to them.

Sometimes the students at my school will ask how many books are in the library. When I tell them around 9,000 their eyes get very wide and then they ask me if I have read them all. I usually respond that I have read a lot of them, but not all. Then they nod their heads and walk away with a dazed look on their faces. I just love that.

I have enjoyed reading the few responses that I have seen this week so far. This one is a bit late because I have allergy brain, and thought I had written and posted this already, only to discover that no I did not. Oh well.

Hope you are all having a fabulous reading week!
