Book Tag: I Spy Book Challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone! I wasn’t really feeling like writing a review for any of the books I have read lately. It wasn’t that they were bad, I just wasn’t feeling inspired enough to write a review for any of them. But I did want to post something, so I found this tag which I originally did way back in 2018 and decided to give it another go.

It was created by booktuber Books and Lala, who was inspired by her son’s I Spy books.

Rules: Find a book that contains (either on the cover or in the title) an example for each category. You must have a separate book for all 20, get as creative as you want and do it within five minutes!

I think I might have done it in more than five minutes.  It still takes a lot of time to look at all of the books I own.  There is also a lot of categories.  I tried super hard to find books that I actually own, but I had to cheat on a few.  If you want to see my original post, look here.

Food

I guess tequila is not technically a food, but it was all that I could find. I hope to pick up this series again sometime soon.

Transportation

I think this is the only book that pretty much only takes place on a train. It is different than the movie, especially the ending, but I still really liked it.

Weapon

I had a lot of choices for this one, but I finally decided on this one. I am looking forward to maybe reading this one soon.

Animal

My favorite middle grade right now. This one had more than one animal so I think I get extra points for this one!

Number

I only had a couple of choices for this one, but decided on Ninth House because it is a favorite.

Something I Read

Just for continuity’s sake, I chose the second book in the Alex Stern series. I can’t wait to read the next one!

Body of Water

This is a library book, but it is currently sitting on my bedside table, so I am counting it. It was the only book with water on it that I had on hand.

Product of Fire

I loved this book, and I really wish the author would write a sequel for it. It was such a great story with a dragon destroying Seattle.

Royalty

Another favorite series! This was such a great take on the fae and a really great cover.

Architecture

This was a tricky one, but I finally decided on this one. For those who may not recognize it that is the New York skyline.

Clothing

Another one I had to sort of fudge on. I didn’t have any books with clothing as a theme or title, so I figured threads was good enough.

Family Member

I still haven’t read this one. Maybe someday I will get around to it. I think I keep hanging on to it because of the cover!

Time of Day

Night is part of the day, right? I’m counting this one as a win. Great series too.

Music

A ballad is a type of song, and then song is also part of the title. I’m a bit on the fence about watching the new movie for this book. I did like the book, but not sure I want to watch the show.

Paranormal Being

Another library book, but it was the only one I have right now with any kind of paranormal being. I have lots with supernatural beings, and yes there is a difference, look it up!

Occupation

This was a really tough one. The only book I had with an occupation in the title I used the last time I did this tag. Didn’t want to repeat myself so I used another library book.

Season

This is an ebook that I bought ages ago and never read. I have a lot of those unfortunately. I tend to forget about them, unless I can see them everyday. This does sound interesting and might be one I pick up soon.

Color

Damn, I could have used this one for architecture, just didn’t look at the cover until now. That’s ok because now I can still use it and enjoy it all over again.

Celestial Body

Another book that I have had forever and still haven’t gotten around to reading. I think I got this at a conference, and the last one I attended was back in 2019, so it has bee awhile.

Something that Grows

Thorns grow on plants so this counts. Love this book! Loved the little novella she published this year based on this book. Maybe we’ll get a new book soon? Pretty please?

Whew! That was a lot of books!  This was a lot of fun and I tag anyone who wants to give it a try! Did you find anything to add to your TBR?  Let me know in the comments.
