Rules: Find a book that contains (either on the cover or in the title) an example for each category. You must have a separate book for all 20, get as creative as you want and do it within five minutes!
I think I might have done it in more than five minutes. My bookcases are not all in one room and so that took a bit of time going from bookcase to bookcase looking for a cover. There is also a lot of categories. I tried super hard to find books that I actually owned the physical book, but I had to cheat on a few and use e-books. Also I linked the covers to their GoodRead pages so you can check them out and add them to your TBR!
This is one of my all time favorite covers. The story is really good too.
I have not read this one yet, I picked it up at ALA midwinter, but I really like the cover! This is a middle grade book.
This one was a bit harder than I thought it would be. I wanted a cover without a person holding a weapon.
I had lots of books with animals on them but I finally decided on this one because the animal was in the title and I hadn’t done a title yet.
This was another one I picked up at ALA midwinter. It just sounds so good. I might need to read it before it comes out in a few weeks.
Something I Read
This was the first Maggie Stiefvater I read and it is one of only a few books that made me cry. Not because it was sad at the end, it was very joyful. A beautiful book about love.
Body of Water
I have had this one sitting on my shelf for a very long time and I still haven’t read it. Not sure why, it sounds like a book I would like, but so many other books keep getting in the way.
Product of Fire
This was another category I agonized over, I have lots of books with some reference to fire either in the title or on the covers. But I finally decided on this one because I like the cover and the title and I am currently reading the third book.
You know I was going to find a way to include one of my favorite series, right. This cover was perfect for this category, both title and cover.
This was also a hard one, but I decided on this one because I really like the cover. You might need to enlarge the cover to see the buildings, but trust me they are there.
I had to look hard for a book in this category, but decided that this one worked because of the dress and the word wore in the title.
This one is technically on my son’s shelf, but it is still in my house and I bought it for him, so I don’t think I’m cheating. This is a book I have been thinking about rereading. It is a great book and it really hits on a lot of things like protesting, the government watching you and it has a group of kid hackers that will make you paranoid to use technology.
Time of Day
Another one I haven’t read yet, but I love the author’s name and it is a ghost story. I really like the title too.
Easiest one. I immediately thought of this one when I saw the category. Another one with the title and the cover matching the category. Awesome!
This was one of the books I had to cheat on. I don’t own the physical book, but it was the only one that fit the bill. The girl is floating/levitating so that is how I qualify it. If we were talking about supernatural beings, it would have been so much easier.
What else would you expect for this category? I had to use my own occupation! Also a great book. A funny read for the beach!
Winter right? I haven’t read this yet and technically I don’t own it, but it is sitting on my bookshelf right now waiting for me to read it so it counts.
This is probably the most colorful book I own. Very pretty and a very good story.
Another two in one, title and cover. This was a pretty good book and a very pretty cover.
Something that Grows
I had a couple of choices for this one as well, but I chose this one because the story was also a really good book.
Whew! That was a lot of books! This was a lot of fun and I tag anyone who wants to give it a try! Did you find anything to add to your TBR? Let me know in the comments.
