Monthly Wrap-Up: March 2024

March has come and gone and I had a lot of fun! I didn’t do much except enjoy all of the good books I read, but that is ok. Hopefully now that the weather is getting better I can get out and enjoy the outdoors a bit more.

For the month of March I managed to read 18 books! That is pretty impressive. Many of them were audiobooks. I had some big projects that I was working on during the month, so I was able to listen to a lot of books. I also had to squeeze in a few at the end for some of my challenges, but that was ok. I also did a pretty good job of writing reviews for almost all of them.

As usual the books are listed in the order that I read them. The titles link to my reviews or to their Goodreads page. Enjoy!

*Holmes, Marple & Poe was a great audiobook to start the month off with. Loved the characters and the story. I really hope it becomes a series.

*Thirteen Ways to Kill Lulabelle Rock was not as funny as I thought it would be, but still a good read.

*The Court of Wanderers was my first ARC of the month and a nice ending to this duology. It had a few issues which I hope got smoothed out before publication.

*The Fury was an awesome audiobook. This book has been getting some well deserved attention on social media. I enjoyed it alot and recommend it to anyone who likes twisty stories with unreliable narrators.

*The Reappearance of Rachel Price was an amazing thriller that I really enjoyed. I had a bit of an issue with some of the motives of the characters, but otherwise it was great!

*Bless Your Heart was such a fun audiobook. It was a cozy horror that has a great family at its core.

*Close to Shore was a fascinating nonfiction book about a series of shark attacks that happened here in the US in 1911. Very informative about sharks as well.

*Close to Death is the fifth book in the Hawthorne and Horowitz series. It is different from the others, but a really good mystery with some nice twists.

*A Door in the Dark was also a very interesting read. It wasn’t at all what I was expecting, but in a good way. The main character was someone I started off liking but kind of not by the end.

*Bride was a fun supernatural romance that I listened to. It was also my first book by this author. I enjoyed it and will probably pick up another by her at some point.

Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers was a book that I ended up liking more than I thought I would at the start. Vera annoyed me quite a bit, but I really liked the other characters and the mystery was well done.

*The One That Got Away with Murder was a fabulous debut that I recommend you get on your TBR. Some good twists and characters that you can get behind and root for.

*Dragon Rider is an excellent beginning to what I hope is going to be a long series. It has great main character and a complex plot that will keep you entertained.

*The Thefts of the Mona Lisa was my second nonfiction book of the month. Amazing I Know. It was an interesting look at the history of the world’s most famous painting.

Dry bones is the first book in the Enzo Files series. I enjoyed the audiobook quite a bit and I look forward to continuing the series soon.

Poor Things is a really interesting and quite amusing book. It is the book the movie of the same name is based on. I haven’t watched the movie yet, but hope to soon.

*Bright Smoke, Cold Fire was a reread that I needed to do so that I could read the next book in the series which has been on my TBR forever! I enjoyed it as much this time as the first.

No Time Like the Past is the fifth book in the Chronicles of ST Mary’s series. I enjoyed this one quite a bit, especially the ending.

March is now officially in the books. I am looking forward to April as I have many really good books lined up to read. In fact I’m going to go read one of those good books right now! Until next time…

Happy Reading!
