Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

Happy Saturday to you all! I hope that you had a good week and are happily enjoying your weekend with a good book. My week was pretty enjoyable with good books to read and listen too. It has been bitterly cold though, so not much time spent outside this week, even though it was sunny and beautiful.

Not many books added to the stack this week. I had only one book hold arrive at the library, one audiobook hold come through and then surprisingly two ARCs. One of the ARCs is for an audiobook that I requested weeks ago, and was actually published this week, so it was a bit of a surprise when I got the email in my inbox. Now I just have to decide which audiobook to start today.

Library books I have added to my bedside stack

Trouble Island is a book that I heard about from one of the author newsletters that I get. It is a historical mystery set during prohibition and the interesting part is that it is also based on the author’s family history. I thought I would give it a chance.

ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

Parents Weekend is another book by one of my newer favorite mystery writers. He has a very different take on how he does his mysteries with lots of different points of views that at first don’t seem at all connected until they do. I love the writing and the characters are always very interesting. This one comes out in May.

The Queen of Fives is the surprise ARC I received this week. It is a historical mystery that sounded really good. It is set in Victorian times and involves a confidence scheme and a wedding! Sounds very intriguing and I am glad that I finally was given the chance to listen to it. I missed this author’s debut book a couple of years ago, but heard good things about it.

Audiobooks

The Village Library Demon-Hunting Society is a book that I have been wanting to read since it came out last year. It is a cozy mystery thriller which don’t always work for me, but I just love the title and look there is a cat on the cover, so how could I not give it a chance. They always get me with the cat.

Well that is enough books to be getting one with. I hope our weather will be getting warmer soon, and it looks like LA might be getting some rain, so that is good news there too. I hope that you are all safe and warm, but not to warm, and having a marvelous week of reading. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
