February Birthstone: Amethyst

My favorite colored stone! I will almost always pick up and at least look at any book with a purple cover! I don’t always choose to read it but I will at least give it a chance. I had no idea that the amethyst can guard against drunkenness! I will have to remember that the next time I go out drinking!

Looking back at all of the books I have read in the last year, I was a bit surprised how few purple covers were to be found. But I still came up with about ten, so it was hard to narrow it down to six. But I finally did so here we go…

* Denotes a link to my review. Otherwise the titles link to their Goodread pages.

Emberclaw is perhaps my favorite cover of the bunch. I just love that purple dragon. Sadly, the story didn’t quite work for me.

*A Rival Most Vial is my favorite cozy mystery of 2024. I love the cover too! I just love that yellow and purple combination, very striking.

Shadowstitch is a darker shade of purple but still works for this tag. I also love the more subtle gold color against the purple.

*Assistant to the Villain has a great purpleish cover. I also love all the little clues on the cover about the story.

*The Undermining of Twyla and Frank has a really stunning shade of purple with nice complementary colors and graphics that also hint about the story.

*Rogue Community College doesn’t have a lot of purple on the cover, but it was enough to catch my eye at the library and give it a look. And I was so glad I did. This is my favorite read so far this year!

Such gorgeous covers don’t you think? Which one is your favorite? What color cover always draws you to a book. Let me know in the comments!

Until next time…

Happy Reading!
