Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!
In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.
The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.
Not a very busy week as far as adding books to my stack. In fact this might be my last post for a couple of weeks as I try to catch up on my current stack of library books. I also only have one physical book left on hold, and I don’t think that one is published till the end of next month. I have been trying really hard to not put anything on hold until I am caught up. I also want to get some of the books I have bought recently read as well.
I have added three ARCs this week, two of the books I am really excited for and was surprised that I found them on Netgalley. The third is a surprise as I had no idea that this favorite author had a new book coming out. I just got an email from the publisher with access to the ARC and if course I said yes!
My summer ARC list is currently full and I am trying to hold off looking for fall ARCs for a few more weeks as the publisher’s are adding more all the time.
Library books I have added to my bedside stack

The Wolf Tree is a mystery thriller set in Scotland and is based on a true story. Three lighthouse keepers disappeared without a trace from the lighthouse back in 1919. In the present day someone has been found dead at the base of the lighthouse, and the mystery starts from there. This is a debut and hadn’t been on my radar at all, but it does sound like a book I will enjoy. I found it through the 52 Book Club Challenge and it is for the prompt: a stream of consciousness narrative. I was at a total loss for this prompt so I did look at their list of books and this was on it, although just flipping through the pages I didn’t see anything that looked like stream of conscience. Hopefully there will be at least one part that will let me check this prompt off the list.
If any of you have a good example for this prompt, preferably something from this century, please let me know.
ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

Guilty by Definition is finally being published in the States! Yeah! I saw this around on the blogs last year, especially the british ones I follow, and I really wanted to read it. But it hasn’t been available till now. I was pretty excited when I saw it on Netgalley and requested it right away. It doesn’t come out till September, so I won’t get to it till the summer, but so looking forward to it.

When I noticed that Thief of Night finally had a cover, I decided to look and see if Netgalley had copies yet, and yeah!, they did. Their publisher is one of my auto approved ones too, so no waiting. I have been waiting for this sequel since I finished the first book, Book of Night, three years ago. I am definitely going to have to reread the first book again, as I remember very little of it. This also comes out in September. It looks like it is going to be a great fall.

How did I miss that Holly Jackson has a new book coming out in just three months!? This is her adult debut. I just couldn’t say no to adding Not Quite Dead Yet to my ARC’s list. It sounds really good too. It is about a woman who is attacked and is gravely injured. The doctors tell her she only has a week to live and she has to solve her own murder. I am sure this one will be great and I can’t wait to get started on it. It comes out in July.

Well that is it for my Stacking the Shelves post this week. Hopefully I will get caught up on my books soon and will be able to start adding books to my stack again. Looking forward to seeing what other people have been adding to their stacks recently. Until next time…
I really enjoyed The Wolf Tree although I’m not sure about it including any stream of consciousness writing. That could just be my memory as there were definitely some parts where it might have appeared. I hope you enjoy it anyway.

I was afraid of that. I don’t really trust those list for the challenges. I have seen books on them that don’t match the prompt, in my opinion anyways. I’m sure I’ll still enjoy the book though.
