Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope your weekend is going well. I have been very busy with lots of things, but I am still managing to squeeze in some reading. I have added some books to my stack this week, mostly ARCs. I don’t usually start adding next year’s releases this early, but two of these are by autoread authors and the third one just sounded too good to pass up. I also have added another audiobook.

Library books I have added to my stack

No library books this week. I didn’t do a trip this week because I had no books to drop off or to pick up. I’m so busy trying to finish all of the ARCs for this month, that I didn’t need to add any other books this week.

ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

Twelve Months (January 20, 2026) is the long awaited (five years!) next book in the Dresden Files series. I was so excited when I was approved for the ARC that I did a little happy dance. This is one that I hope to get to as soon as I can.

Strange Animals (February 10, 2026) just sounded too good to pass up. It’s about a man who finds himself discovering all sorts of interesting creatures in the Appalachian mountains. It is a contemporary fantasy.

Cherry Baby (April 14, 2026) is by another author that is an autoread for me. I just love her contemporary adult romances. They are always filled with realistic characters just trying to find their way through life.

Audiobooks

After finishing Fever Beach, I decided that I needed more Carl Hiaasen in my life. So I decided to dig deep into his backlist and start off with the first Skink novel, Double Whammy. I have two other audiobooks, both of them short ones, to get through before I get to this one. But I am very much looking forward to listening to it.

Those are all of the books for this week. I hope to be done with my August TBR soon as there is only one more week left, yikes! I have one hold book on its way to my library, so hopefully that one will be ready by next week. And I am sure there will be new audiobooks as well. Looking forward to seeing what books you have added to your stack this week. Until next time…

Happy Reading!

      1. He came to my local bookstore when Olympian Affair came out, and I remember him giving a really good reason why it took so long, but for the life of me I can’t remember what! I’m just glad we are finally getting it.

      1. And, of course, the last book ended with a cliffhanger. I’ve been reading them since the first book came out. Everyone who follows this series was going a little crazy waiting for so long. LOL Some authors lose their readers by waiting too long and people forget about the series altogether, but not Butcher. And I live in Chicago, so it’s a lot of fun for me.
