Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope that you are all having a fantastic week. The rain has just been coming down the last few days here and of course with that flooding issues. We don’t have to worry about that where I live, but I do worry about large puddles on the roads.

Another slowish week with adding to the stack, but that is ok. Still trying to catch up on some books that I have had checked out of the library for awhile. So only two books to talk about this week and some short stories I purchased.

Library books I have added to my bedside stack

The Tree That Was a World

I saw a review for this book a few weeks ago and immediately thought that my great niece would love it. I decided to check it out of the library to read first, because I wanted to make sure she wouldn’t be too young for it. It looks wonderful and has beautiful illustrations inside. It is much shorter than I thought it would be, but I can’t wait to dive into it.

ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

The Ending Writes Itself

Evelyn Clarke is actually two authors who co wrote this book. V.E. Schwab and Cat Clarke wrote this wonderful sounding mystery thriller about a group of authors who are brought together to finish a recently deceased author’s last book. The competition is fierce and authors start turning up dead. It sounds like a great locked room mystery that is also a bit of a satire on the publishing industry. This comes out in April.

Audiobooks

No new audiobooks this week which is a good thing. With all of this rain, my listening time has been shortened as I usually get a lot of listening done on my walks. I am currently half way through my current book and I hope to finish that this weekend. Then I can start on the last one before thinking about what I might listen to next.

Purchased Books

I purchased a few short stories this week on Amazon. One by a favorite author and the other is a collection by several different authors.

Constituent Service is a short story about a young woman’s job taking care of the aliens who now live on earth.

The Time Traveler’s Passport is a collection of short stories from some pretty wonderful authors. I think these stories are all centered around the theme of time travel, but it will be a very interesting take on it I’m sure.

That is it for this week’s edition of Stacking the Shelves. Let me know if you have any of these on your radar. Until next time…

Happy Reading!

  1. The Ending Writes Itself sounds really interesting. The rain has really curtailed my walks too although I did have a gorgeous walk on Thursday when the weather here was lovely. Sadly I think that was the last sunny day for a while.
