Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!
In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.
The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.
Happy Saturday to you all. I hope you are having a good weekend and are finding time to read. My week has been pretty good so far, the weather at least has been cooperating. We have had 3-4 days in a row without rain, which is unusual for us this time of year. I’m glad though as this is giving the ground time to dry out and our rivers to finally get back to their normal levels.
I did make it to the library this week, but it was a disappointing visit. But on the plus side I did pick up an ARC and an audiobook this week.
Library books I have added to my bedside stack
No library books this week and I am very disappointed about that. I purposely went so that I could drop off some books and pick up a hold that the system told me was ready. But alas, when I arrived the book was nowhere to be found! And it wasn’t just me, the librarian also couldn’t find it. Well, they put me at the top of the list to get the next available copy, but I was really looking forward to reading it, as it was my nonfiction choice for the month. I also didn’t have time to wander and look for any other books, but oh well. Maybe next time.
ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

Summary from Netgalley:

Leo can’t believe she’s back in Blue Oak. Her small, quirky Texas hometown feels suffocating after trying to make it big as an English professor in New York—especially due to her strained relationship with her overly hair-sprayed mother, Karina. But with Leo’s career in academia in shambles, at least she’s able to work as a photographer for her godmother’s real estate business. And her best friend, Emily, is around to help her navigate through the mess—and maybe force her to reconnect with her old high school boyfriend, Mack.
But while at work, Leo makes a grisly discovery at one of her godmother’s properties: the dead body of rival real estate agent and social media influencer Chaz. Even worse, Leo and Emily have been secretly running a snarky Reddit page making fun of Chaz’s cringe-inducing advice and duck-faced selfies. When someone she loves is accused of the murder, Leo finds herself flung headfirst into a dangerous investigation, teaming up with a local detective who is a lot more attractive than she remembered when they were both teenagers. Meanwhile, Karina has been acting stranger and stranger, as if all her hair hides a big secret. . . .
This is a debut and it just sounded so cute and fun I couldn’t resist requesting it. My husband and I have been house hunting for the last year, so I thought this would be a bit of fun.
Audiobooks

This was a book that was on my 2024 TBR that I really wanted to read. Yesterday was Appreciate a Dragon Day, so it was only fitting that I picked up I’m Afraid You’ve Got Dragons to listen to this weekend.

That is it for this week’s edition of Stacking the Shelves. Hopefully my runaway library book will show up sometime soon. Until next time…
