Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

I have only added a few books to the stack this week and all of them are library books. I am waiting on a request for an audiobook from Netgalley, but so far no luck. I do usually get audiobooks that I request, so I’m not to worries.

I had no holds waiting for me at the library this week, but I found a bounty of books from last year that I have been wanting to read just sitting on the new release table, so of course I snapped up a couple of them. Then I grabbed a couple more for my challenges off the shelves. I also downloaded an audiobook from Libby.

Library books I have added to my bedside stack

Homemaker is the first book in the Prairie Nightingale Mystery series. I recently came across a review for the newest book in the series and thought it sounded fun. Prairie is a single mom turned detective.

The Murder World’s End is a book I wanted to read last year, but never got to. I am super excited about this one because I have only heard good things about it.

Snake-Eater is another book I wanted to read last year but couldn’t find the time. I love Kingfisher’s books and this one takes place in the Arizona desert. I think it is also a horror novel, which she does well.

The Tomb of the Mili Mongga is my nonfiction book for the month. It is the story of how a fossil expedition turns into the quest to find a yeti like creature living in the Indonesian forests.

ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

No new ARCs this week, but I am hoping to get one soon.

Audiobooks

Queen Demon is the second book in the Rising World series. I loved the first book, Witch King, and I am really looking forward to listening to this one. This is an epic fantasy about friendship and power, of trust and betrayal and found family.

That is it for this week’s edition of Stacking the Shelves. Have you read any of these books? What have you added to your stack this week? Let me know in the comments. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
