Birthstone:

Happy Birthday to all of you who celebrate this month! I just love the color green, and especially the emerald shade. It is usually so vibrant and bright and makes me think of spring. I also seem to be attracted to green book covers and will give them a closer look whenever I see them. I found six gorgeous covers to talk about today, three on my tBR and three that I have read. I think a couple of these I have mentioned before in my Spell the Month in Books posts, but it never hurts to mention them again.

Books on my TBR

Piper at the Gates of Dusk is a new book set in the Chaos Walking world by Patrick Ness. I love this author’s work and I really hope to get a chance to read this one soon.

Mayhem on the Marzipan Express is the second book in the Claire Walker Mystery series. I enjoyed the first book and I keep meaning to pick this one up since it came out earlier this year, but I haven’t yet. Hopefully soon.

The Vanishing Place is a book I have had on my TBR since last year. It is a debut and the mystery is set in New Zealand. It sounds really good. I just might have to push it up the list and read it sometime soon.

Books I have read

The Somewhat Wicked Witch of Brigandale was a very cute and fun cozy fantasy. I loved the characters and the fairy tale feel to the story.

Anatomy of an Alibi was a great mystery thriller that I really enjoyed. The mystery was very convoluted with a lot of red herrings.

A Ghastly Catastrophe is the newest book in the Veronica Speedwell historical mystery series. I enjoyed this one just as much as all the others in the series.

Look at all of those pretty green covers. I especially like the touch of gold on two of them. It looks great set against the green. Looking forward to seeing what other people have found for their birthstone covers. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
