Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

Happy Saturday to you all! We have been having just beautiful weather here in the PNW, which is not conducive to sitting inside and reading. Of course I could sit outside and read, but fair skin and sun don’t mix well. I have been enjoying the weather, although in small doses.

Many books added this week, especially ARCs. Two of the ARCs don’t come out until the fall and the other one is actually an ALC which comes out in July. I also added one more library book to my haul this week, but no audiobooks.

Library books I have added to my bedside stack

The Midnight Show is a new release that I have been wanting to read. It is a mystery thriller that is centered around women comics in the 1980’s. One of the women goes missing and the mystery of her disappearance was never solved. Forty years later, a journalist starts asking the wrong questions about her disappearance.

ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

Last Night was Killer is the ALC that I added this week. It sounds like a really fun read to start off my summer beach reads. It is about a single mom who after partying too much one night finds a dead body in her trunk. I just couldn’t resist that purple cover either.

Our Strange Duet (Sept. 1st) is a Phantom of the Opera retelling by one of my favorite authors. I have never seen the musical or really know much about it, but I am sure it will be a winner just because of the author.

We Already Dug the Grave (Sept. 8th) is a southern gothic thriller about two sister who will do anything to protect each other, including murder. I think there is also a fantasy aspect to this as well as one of the sisters is psychic.

Audiobooks

No audiobooks this week, but hopefully one of my holds will show up before I am done with my current read.

That is it for this week’s Stacking the Shelves. I think I did pretty good, especially with the ARCs. I hope you have added something fun to your stack this week. Until next time…
