I had a very relaxing weekend with plenty of time to read. I finished 5 books this week, two of them were audiobooks and one was a novella. All of the books were excellent. I managed to finish both audiobooks while I was doing yard work and getting caught up on some other things. I am mostly enjoying my current reads as well.

What am I currently reading?

Killer Vibes is an ARC that I am currently reading. So far it is pretty good, although I have only just started it. It is the first in a new murder mystery series.

The First Female Fossil Hunter is good, although so far not much about Mary Anning’s life. The author has been focusing more on the society of the time she lived in and also the geology of the Lyme Regis area, rather than her life. But I am hoping that will be the focus soon.

Fated is the audiobook that I am currently listening to. I am enjoying it so far. I love the setting and the characters. This is an urban fantasy.

What have I recently finished reading?

Our Lady of Blades is the newest book set in the Greatcoats world. I enjoyed it, although it was maybe a bit to long. Loved the two sisters and their quest for revenge.

Wolf Worm had quite a few icky moments, but I enjoyed it. I don’t think I have any desire to visit North Carolina now. I enjoyed the strong female characters in this story and the ending was nice.

Ocean: Earth’s Last Wilderness was a really good audiobook to listen to. I enjoyed listening to David Attenborough talk about the ocean and the animals he encountered there.

Mayhem on the Marzipan Express was just as much fun as the first book in this series. Maybe a little too much emphasis on the relationship between the two main characters, but the mystery was great.

Out Law is a novella set in the Harry Dresden world. I really enjoyed this one and it just makes me want to read the next book. Fans of the series will love this one.

What will I read next?

If Books Could Kill is the next ARC that I need to read. I just love that cover and the synopsis sounds pretty good.

The Midnight Show is the next book I plan on reading. It is a mystery with the setting of the New York comedy scene in the 80’s.

Last Night Was Killer is an ALC that I picked up mostly because of that cover. But it also reminds me a bit of Finlay Donovan. Hopefully it will be as funny as it sounds.
