This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!
In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

I don’t know how many of you do this too, but I usually write my posts the day before they publish. So on Friday, I didn’t have anything to talk about for a STS post on Saturday. Then this morning (meaning Sunday) I had a whole bunch of books, well four, show up. Two from the library, an ARC and an audiobook. So this is a couple of days later than when I usually post, but better late than never.
Library books I have added to my bedside stack
Throw Away the Key is a suspense thriller about an old CIA locksmith that is close to retirement, but ends up solving a decades old case that he had worked on. I actually had the ARC for this one, but for some reason they archived it like 2 months before it was published. Needless to say that I hadn’t downloaded it yet, so I missed out on the ARC. I’m pretty happy to still read it though as it sounds like something I would like.
Hot Girl Murder Club is a book that I picked for one of my prompts. I think it is a great title and I probably would have picked it up regardless. I’ve read a couple of books by this author which I remember liking, so hopefully this one will work out as well. It is a murder mystery about a string of murders across Hollywood that an up and coming singer is accused of committing them. t
ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account
Of Sorcery and Science was a book that I had thought about requesting from Netgalley, but didn’t because I already had way to many books to review for September. But then I received a nice email from the publisher and I decided I couldn’t say no. I really like Mike Chen’s books and I wanted to support him with his first foray into Young Adult. I have already started this and so far I am really enjoying it. It is a pretty fast read so far and quite a bit of fun. It comes out on September 8th.
Audiobooks
I, Robot is another book that I am reading for a challenge. I read a lot of Asimov in my youth, but I don’t think I ever read this one. It is a pretty iconic book and I think it will be fun to read now with everything that is currently happening with AI. I don’t think that I have listened to this particular reader before, but he has done some other good books, so hopefully he will be good. I should be starting this one today.
