A review for the debut novel, A Gift Before Dying by Malcolm Kempt. Set in a small town in the remote Arctic Circle, a young Inuit girl takes her life. Cole, the lead detective doesn’t think all is what it seems and embarks on a journey that will turn deadly.
Happy Holidays! I have for you today reviews for five holiday romances that I read this month. They were all pretty good and I enjoyed them for the most part. I have a few more holiday books to read and a couple more reviews to write, but so far I have been enjoying my holiday reading.
A review for the fourth book in the Ernest Cunningham mystery series. Everyone in This Bank is a Thief by Benjamin Stevenson is a fast paced funny and clever murder mystery that will keep you guessing until the very end.
Here are two fairly short reviews for the last two books I read. I highly recommend both of them. The first, A Judgement of Powers by Benedict Jacka is the third book in the series. It was a great addition to a wonderful urban fantasy. The Crimson Throne by Sara Raasch and Beth Revis is a YA historical fantasy set in Scotland during Queen Mary’s reign. This one is also great and will be a duology.
A review for the audiobook version of the newest thriller by Rachel Hawkins. The Storm is an exciting murder mystery set in coastal Alabama during hurricane season. There is a gothic vibe to the story and the use of many female characters to tell the story is well done.
