A weekly post in which I pick a book off of my GoodReads want to read list and talk about it. This week’s pick is a winter theme story with pirates and magic.
A review for the audiobook version of The Hexologists by Josiah Bancroft. This is the first in a new fantasy series that I really enjoyed. I lived the characters and the world building was divine. If you are looking for a book with complex characters and magical system then you should give this one a try.
A weekly post in which I pick a book off of my GoodReads want to read list and talk about it. For this week’s choice I am still looking back at all of the lovely books that were published this year, but I have yet to read! So many books, so little time. This week’s pick is one that only recently came to my attention but was released in March. It is a dark academia, with a mystery and is also a young adult book. It sounds really good and might be one I pick up soon.
A review for the new standalone novel from the Jackaby series by William Ritter. Rook is a fun magical mystery with a lots of murder and mayhem. The setting of a small New England town after the Civil War gives it a fun flair as well.
This is a review for the book Her Dark Wings by Melinda Salisbury. At its heart is the Persephone myth, but this is so much better. It is a story of grief, self discovery and empowerment.
