For some reason this book sat on my audio shelf for a really long time. I wish I had listened to it earlier. It is awesome. Sara Raasch has created a really unique world using seasons as her basis. It is a little confusing at first figuring it all out, when I was listening to it, mostly because I didn’t have the map that is in the book. Once you begin to understand how the world works, it is a marvelous read. The magic in this world is very different as well, only the Kings and Queens have magic, and they can only use it in their own realms and on their own people. But Epic Reads does a much better job of explaining this world than I can. Click on the link under the picture to go to their video. Kate Rudd is an excellent reader, I enjoyed listening to her. She is also the reader for the second book, Ice Like Fire, along with Nick Podehl, which I am currently in the middle of. The third book, Frost Like Night, will be out in September. If your enjoy books with adventure, a different take on magic and of course romance I highly recommend this series.
If you like: The Grisha series by Leigh Bardugo or the Seven Realms series by Cinda WIlliams Chima then you will definitely enjoy this series.
