I’ve been thinking a lot about my TBR, mostly the one that currently resides on my bedside table. I currently have 5 books from the public library and 8 others that I either own or belong to my school library. Then there are about 5-10 more scattered through out the house that I keep meaning to read. I don’t own a lot of the books I read. I either borrow from the public library or my school’s library. This system works well for me most of the time.
It is the books from the public library that I have really been thinking about. It doesn’t seem to matter how I space out the books on hold, they all seem to come at the same time and then end up being due on the same day. This current stack started out around 10 books which over the month I’ve whittled down, but others got added to it. Four of the five are due back in a week, and even though I’m a fast reader, I can’t manage that and have a life too. I can renew them, but a couple of them have people waiting for them, and I hate keeping them when I know others want to read them. Also, there are a couple I’m not sure I want to read any more.
I guess part of the problem is that I when I put a book on hold it is because I have an interest in it then, but at some point that interest has dwindled. There are times when I don’t remember putting a book on hold or why I thought I would be interested in reading it. I think a couple of these books will be going back unread, which always makes me feel guilty.
Sorry, not sure where I was going with this, but just wanted to vent a little. I feel frustrated a times with the need to read all of the books I want to. On to this weeks reviews and what I’m reading next.
Monday: LifeBlood by Gena Showalter. Interesting second installment in this unique series
Tuesday: Orphan Island by Laurel Snyder. Very different but very good middle grade book.
Thursday: Killer Instinct by S. E. Green. An interesting main character
Friday: Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I had forgotten how much I really liked this series. I’m glad I decided to pick it up again.
Blacklist by Alyson Noel. Second book in the Beautiful Idols series. Hate the cover, but I hope it will be a good read.
Dragon’s Green by Scarlett Thomas. Interesting so far, has a Roald Dahl feel to it.
Invincible by Sherrilyn Kenyon. My audiobook for the week, which I am actually almost done with. Not sure if I will continue to number 3 or to something else.
Still waiting to read Waste of Space. NetGalley has finally agreed that there is an issue with the file that they are trying to resolve with the publisher. I am hoping that it gets fixed soon, I really want to read it.
That’s my confessions for the week.
