Bookish Thought (1)

Things have been a little slow this week. School is winding down for the year, although I still have almost the whole month of June left. It will be a long few weeks I think.  We totally skipped Spring here weather wise, and are now into our summer weather of sunny and 70’s and 80’s.

Reading wise I’m doing pretty good on my goals for the year.  According to Goodreads I’ve read over 70 books so far this year.  I think I might have missed recording a couple though, it feels like I have read more. The summer is when I usually get a lot of reading done, although this summer will be busier than normal. I’m working on sorting through my TBR pile trying to prioritize it a little.  I’ll post more on that next week, hopefully with pictures.

The big book news I saw this week is that on June 26th, it will be the 20th HP and the Philosopher's Stoneanniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone first publication in the UK. Bloomsbury Publishing is offering a whole bunch of stuff and will have celebrations all over the UK for this special occasion.  We have to wait a whole year in the states as it wasn’t published here until 1998.   Scholastic will be celebrating the anniversary as well, but hasn’t released any details yet.  So far we just know that there will be a big party on July 31st.  I’m certainly looking forward to it.

Here is what will be coming up on the blog this week and what I am currently reading.

Book Reviews

Monday: Royal Bastards by Andrew Shvarts. Fast read, good story.  World building needs a little work

Tuesday: See You in the Cosmos by Jack Cheng.  Best audio I’ve listened to in awhile.

Thursday: Battlemage by Taran Matharu. Awesome ending to a really great series.

Friday: Inferno: The Chronicles of Nick by Sherrilyn Kenyon.  Running out of ways to say how good this is.

Currently Reading

Seeker by Victoria Rossi.  So far, so good! I’m sad that it is only a duology!

Roar by Cora Carmack. Netgalley read for the week.  Sounds like a good story

The Blackthorn Key by Kevin Sands. Audiobook for the week.

Have a great week everyone and happy reading!
