Top 5 Wednesday – SFF BFFs

Top 5 Wednesday!

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Lainey at GingerReads and Samantha at Thoughts on Tomes.  You can find the group on Goodreads.

This week’s topic: SFF BFFs

Discuss your favorite friends in Scifi and Fantasy, or characters you’d be BFFs with.

This was probably my easiest one ever!  I didn’t have to work too hard to come up with a list, so with out further ado here are my favorite people from Scifi and Fantasy books I’ve read recently.

1. Abel and Noemi from the Constellation series by Claudia Gray.

Defy the Stars

Abel was the first character that popped into my head as soon as I saw this prompt.  Perhaps because I had just finished the series.  But I think I still would have picked both him and Noemi, because of their steadfast loyalty to their friends.  They will cross the universe to help the people they care about.

2. Lemon Fresh from Lifel1k3 by Jay Kristoff

LifeL1k3

I think Lemon Fresh was my favorite character from this book.  She was such a good and loyal friend.  But she was also smart and sassy and funny.  Everything I always look for in a friend.  Can’t wait to read the sequel!

3. Murderbot from the Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells

All Systems Red

I am pretty sure that Murderbot would be mortified by the concept of friendship.  But I would love to sit and watch the serials quietly with Murderbot any day of the week.  And if I ever got into a sticky life and death situation, I would want Murderbot there protecting me for sure.

4.  The Crew from Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman

Aurora Rising

I really enjoy stories about misfits saving the world, or in this case, the Universe.  I would be willing to be friends with anyone from this fearless squad of teens.  I especially liked Scarlet,  she is the diplomat of the group and can be very charming when she needs to be, but very acerbic when it comes to dealing with the group.

5. Peter Grant from the Peter Grant books by Ben Aaronovitch

Rivers of London

This is my only fantasy character on the list, but I had to add Peter.  He has that dry British humor that I love so much, and of course when he talks I can just hear that accent.  Plus it would be totally awesome to hang out and solve supernatural crimes with him and do some magic.

That was a lot of fun.  I can’t wait to see who every one else names.  I came up with about 10 more as I was writing this, but decided to stick with the ones I originally thought of first.  Which characters would you like to be best friends with?
