Happy Halloween!
I hope you are all having fun today! I always have fun seeing the little kids all dressed up. They are just so cute!
I had a pretty good reading month, even though I only read 12 books. A couple of them were quite long and so took longer to get through. But for the most part I enjoyed all of the books this month.
- The Starless Sea was perhaps my favorite this month. Such a great story.
- The Squirrel on the Train was the shortest and the funniest.
- Soul of Stars was a great sequel to Heart of Iron.
- The Fowl Twins are a remarkable duo and very clever.
- Catfishing on Catnet was a pretty good thriller. My review will be up next week for it.
- When the Sky Fell on Splendor ended up not being what I expected, but still really good.
- Midnight Crossroads was fun and similar to the TV show.
- The Suffering was totally creepy and a great sequel.
- Winterwood was a really excellent book.
- Refraction was one of the best Sci-fi books I’ve read this year.
- Five Dark Fates was a little disappointing but still a really good conclusion to the series.
- Strange Practice was a really good urban fantasy.
I met my Goodreads 2019 Reading Challenge goal, so I guess I can stop reading for this year. Just kidding. I knew I would probably surpass my goal of 150 books. I set the bar lower so I wouldn’t feel pressured to meet it.
How was your reading month? Anything really good that I might have missed?
Looks like a great reading month! I hope to pick up soul of stars and winterwood soon!

Wow, looks like you had a great reading month and congrats on meeting (and passing?) your reading challenge goal! Starless Sea looks so good. I’m really starting to hear/see more hype about it now!

Starless Sea was good. I’m glad that it is getting the hype it deserves.

Awesome job on meeting your goal! (You say you “only” read 12 books…man, I get excited when I get up to 12 in a month. You’re doing great!) And also fantastic that you loved so many of them–that’s a great feeling, knowing you made good book choices 🙂

You had a fantastic reading month!! I have Winterwood on my TBR, but since I’m not a big fantasy person, I might not get to it this year.

It is a pretty light fantasy, more like magical realism than anything else.
